Regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of classical sacred music, Johann Sebastian Bach’s St. Matthew Passion sets chapters 26 and 27 of the Gospel of Matthew to music, and was first performed in 1727 on Good Friday at the St. Thomas Church in Leipzig. Friday, April 2nd at 8:00pm.

As a special Good Friday celebration, Performance Rochester is proud to present Bach's St. John Passion, in its entirety, with Voices under the direction of WilliamWeinert.  Founded by Weinert, Voices is a professional ensemble of some of western's New York's finest singers.

On Sunday, February 11, 2018, Asbury First United Methodist Church in downtown Rochester was the perfect venue for Voices Chamber Choir and Orchestra to present J.S. Bach's Mass in B-minor (BWV 232).  Completed just one year before his death, Bach's B-minor mass (1749) is a musical setting of the complete Ordinary of the Latin Mass.
