Society for Chamber Music in Rochester

WXXI Classical 91.5 presents a new broadcast concert series by the Society for Chamber Music in Rochester. Hosted by Julia Figueras, the four-week series features varied chamber music by Arvo Pärt, Maurice Ravel, Anton Arensky, JS Bach, and Johannes Brahms, recorded at the Lyric Theatre and the Hochstein Performance Hall. The programs air Sunday afternoons at 2:00pm in August.

SCMR is the oldest chamber music society in the area, founded in 1977. They present Chamber Music concerts of all periods and styles featuring musicians of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the Eastman School of Music. Under the leadership of Artistic Directors Julianna Athayde and Erik Behr, SCMR has continued to bring vibrant chamber music to new and appreciative audiences.
