Concierto is a weekly program of classical music presented in Spanish and English. The program features classical music by Latin American and Spanish composers and musicians.

This week on Concierto your host, Frank Dominguez, shares Brazilian Bach pieces from Villa-Lobos, a sextet by Mexican composer Carlos Chávez, and a traditional Catalan carol.

Concierto can be heard Tuesdays at 10pm and Saturdays at 7pm.

This week the second hour of Concierto celebrates “el día de los muertos,” “the Day of the Dead,” the Mexican holiday to remember friends and family who have passed on. We’ll do that with sacred music by Juan del Encina and Tomás Luis de Victoria, as well as Mahler conducted by Spaniard Jesus Lopez-Cobos.
