Mon 4/20, 9:00a The Hochstein Alumni Orchestra & cellist Annie Jacobs-Perkins play Haydn

Apr 3, 2020

Evan Meccarello founded the Hochstein Alumni Orchestra (HAO) in 2010, reuniting musicians who trained at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance. Since its debut, the HAO has played summer concerts in Perinton and Canandaigua, adding a winter concert in the Hochstein Performance Hall in 2011.

On January 4, 2020, Hochstein alumna Annie Jacobs Perkins took the stage to play Haydn's Cello Concerto No. 2 with the HAO. She is a most distinguished graduate of the school; Annie was featured on an episode of NPR's From the Top, taped in Kodak Hall.  She is an Outstanding Graduate of University of Sounthern California's Thorton School of Music and can now be found at the New England Conservatory, where she'll earn her Masters this spring. Annie is also the cellist for the award-winning Callisto Piano Trio, which toured Europe in January 2019.  After seeing her play, music journalist Alex Ross said Annie had a "hypnotic lyricism" - an apt you will hear.
