Event Description

Librarians Nanci Nugent and Bob Scheffel will join you in a discussion of selected books on the Arts, starting with photographer Sally Mann’s award-winning autobiography Hold Still. Mann’s lush photographs of her family, landscapes, and FBI corpse farms have courted controversy as well as high praise. She is also a superb writer, dealing with subjects as wide as growing up in the American South to her friendship with the renowned painter Cy Twombly. Please read the book before joining the discussion. There are 17 copies in the system and it is available as an ebook and audio book on Overdrive. Use this link to register: This is the first in what is hoped to be a continuing book group that will meet to discuss art and photography, with discussions to be held in Zoom. Our first discussion will be Wednesday, October 21. Reservations required, details to follow. Nanci Rosenberg-Nugent is a Librarian in the Arts Division; Bob Scheffel is a Librarian in the Reynolds Media Center.
