An upcoming Fringe Festival performance by Rochester chamber choir First Inversion is embroiled in unexpected controversy after recent social media posts slammed the event for offering African-American spirituals sung by a nearly all-white choir. Conductor Lee Wright will host a community dialogue from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, August 30, at Danforth Community Center, 200 West Avenue. Afterward, Wright and representatives of the Lyric Theatre will decide whether the show will happen.
